Hosting and server logs
This website consists of static files and is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When a page is requested, Cloudflare processes the connection data this requires: the IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested address and the browser identifier (user agent).
These data are processed to deliver the pages and to protect the website against attacks and abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely and reliably. Without these data, the website cannot be delivered.
Cloudflare processes the data as a processor on behalf of the controller, under Cloudflare’s data processing addendum (Art. 28 GDPR). The controller does not store server logs itself.
The data are deleted once they are no longer needed to deliver the pages and protect the website. How long that takes in each case follows Cloudflare’s retention rules.
Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Further details, including on storage periods, are in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
No cookies, no tracking
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and embeds no third-party content – no videos, map services, social media buttons or external scripts. Fonts, graphics and scripts come from the same server as the pages.
Settings in your browser
If you explicitly choose a light or dark colour scheme or pause the animation on the home page, your browser stores that choice in the local storage (localStorage) of your device. It is not sent to the server and can be deleted in your browser settings; returning to the system setting or playing the animation again removes it. Storing it is strictly necessary for this function you requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Search
Search runs in your browser. To do so it loads parts of a search index from this server; what you type is not sent to a search service.
External links
This website links to pages of other providers, such as original publications and profiles. Your browser connects to another provider only when you follow such a link; that provider’s privacy policy applies there.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17) and restriction of processing (Art. 18). You may object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21).
